Dolphin Excursions Motion Picture Division

Dolphin Excursions Motion Picture Division — marine coordination for productions filming in Hawaiian waters, with access to the largest selection of marine equipment in the State.

MARINE COORDINATION

Keeping productions safe and on budget

Dolphin Excursions Motion Picture Division has been coordinating productions in Hawaiian waters for decades. We offer marine coordination for Hawaiian waters with access to the largest selection of marine equipment in the State.

Film permits for filming on the water in Hawaii require consideration for the community, culture and weather conditions, and our team can help streamline that process. From the first meeting we can discuss budgets, permit requirements, water safety, equipment, vessel contracting and insurance, and scouting.

Our library of picture vessels helps pinpoint what you are looking for in a timely manner.

WHAT WE COORDINATE

Eight areas of on-water capability

Every card below is a service the division runs itself, photographed on Hawaiian productions.

Camera & lighting

Camera and lighting vessels are available in small and large industrial types.

Rigid inflatable boats

RIBs make safe boat-to-boat shuttles and camera boats.

Technocranes

Technocranes at sea can be tricky but not impossible with Libra and Scorpion heads. Each situation needs to be looked at carefully.

Wildlife

Filming wildlife takes time and some luck. Hawaii offers great opportunities because of its diverse ocean wildlife and clear waters.

Docks

Docks are available in a variety of sizes, usable as filming platforms and for set decorating.

Water safety

Our team are Hawaiian Water Patrol members certified in Risk Management, CPR, First Aid and Advanced Life Saving. We also field licensed USCG captains, dive instructors and sailing instructors.

Underwater filming

Our team has been involved in over 90% of all underwater filming in Hawaii with zero incidents. Rental gear, lessons for actors, dry suits, re-breathers, scooters and underwater comms are all available.

Storms, rapids & sets

Working with your set designer, construction department and SFX team, we have created storms, rapids and sets to match the look you are after.
